About Me

I’m not your typical trainer. I’m not a size 2 with 8% body fat (nor have I ever been in my adult life).

I’m a mom of three children who strives for healthy living while enjoying the best in life.

Over the past 6 years I have worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor. I’ve empowered a number of women to take control of their health through three key components: exercise, an improved eating lifestyle, and body image coaching.

Exercise

I don’t need to spell out the physical benefits of exercise for you. Everyone knows that being active is good for your heart, helps with bone density, and can be helpful in regulating weight.

But it’s more than that. Exercise is one of the purest ways to cope with and release the stresses of life. Whether you work or stay at home, whether you have 5 children or none, whether you’re married or not, the list goes on…we all have stresses and need a release for them.

The keyΒ to using exercise for stress release is to find the form that works best for you which is why I am certified in a number of different group exercise formats and create unique training programs for my clients. I want my clients to know they have options and work with them to find the best match.

Improved Eating Lifestyle

Weight loss isn’t about ‘dieting’ it’s about adopting a healthy eating lifestyle. Our society has us trained to look for the quick fix and the truth is, maintaining a healthy weight is achieved by consistently choosing quality nutrients for your body.

Just as exercise isn’t a one size fits all, neither is our eating preferences. We all have food we prefer and things that we turn our noses up at – and that’s okay! It’s possible to find healthy options even for the pickiest eaters.

I work with my clients to make manageable changes to their eating lifestyle so they can incorporate more healthy choices while reducing the amount of processed foods they eat.

Body Image Coaching

I’ve discovered that even with exercise and healthy eating, people can suffer from feeling like it’s not enough. Instead of recognizing all of the beautiful qualities they have and the good they have to offer, they see imperfections and shortcomings.

For years I’ve struggled with those feelings, and truthfully some days are better than others. But what I’ve come to realize is that I have the power to change my thinking. Are the imperfections and shortcomings still there? Yes, because life is about growth not perfection. So instead, I choose to see the growth and celebrate my victories.

Through honestly sharing my own journey to overcome a negative self image I help my clients find the strength to fight their own. It’s a journey that we are on together.

I’m encouraged by the lives I have touched, by those I currently work with and hopeful about those I have yet to meet.

I want to help you get healthy and feel better about yourself. Here’s my three step plan:

  1. We assess your current exercise and eating lifestyle.
  2. We create goals based on a custom plan that will work for you.
  3. I help you follow the plan and keep you accountable.

  1. It’s so great to hear you have struggled with the same battles as the rest of us women have in the past. It makes you real. I am still struggling with my dietary choices, although they have improved; as well as disciplining myself to exercise when I am alone. I have made improvements, however, in my strength, endurance and appearance (thanks in part to you!). You have gotten me on the right track to health and fitness! I honestly do not think I would have been where I am today if it were not for you. Thanks, Jenn! And I am happy to say I am so glad you finally woke up and figured out the answer to your question, “Now what??”
